Academic Senate Reminders

Agenda Items

If you have items for the Senate Agenda, please send them to me ( two Thursdays (12 days typically) prior to Senate. This is the day that I send Senate Executive the materials for senate consideration. Exec meets on the Tuesday preceding our senate meeting to set the Senate Agenda. However, Spring Break interrupts this cycle for our next senate/senate exec meeting sequence. Therefore:

If you have items for consideration at our March 24th meeting, you will need to send me those items by March 5th at noon.

Agenda Overview and Links to Materials

All materials for the February 24th meeting can be accessed through the following link:

Please be sure to attend to welcome Brittany Grice to CI. Brittany is our new Title IX Inclusion Officer. She will be giving us a brief presentation about her role at the University and information on when and how you should contact her.

In additional to our regular reports, a special report will be presented from our Statewide Senators about Tenure Density and a resolution from ASCSU regarding non-permanent faculty (

We have one item in "Continuing Business": The Global Premodern Studies (GPS) minor. We will be voting on this as a second reading.

There are two "New Business" items--one, the Arts Management Minor from Curriculum and a Policy on Assigned Time for Student Service from Senate Executive. The later is a policy that is a result from our recent Collective Bargaining Agreement that gives CI 9WTU a year through the 2016-17 Academic Year for exceptional service to students. The policy details the CBA elements as well as projected award timelines and criteria. All faculty are eligible for this award.

Please note that "Intent to Raise Questions" has moved down the agenda to after "New Business" as an attempt to prioritize our business and informational items.
