It is important to have the New Business items addressed in this meeting so we can vote on them during the second reading at the final senate meeting. Please try to attend so we can reach quorum and conduct our business.

Agenda Overview and Links to Materials

All materials for the April 14th meeting can be accessed through the following link:

There are three "Continuing Business" items--Senate Exec is putting forth a resolution in support of ASCSU's call for a comprehensive policy on Academic Freedom. The resolution and the referenced policy can be found at the link above. From Curriculum and Academic Planning is the Biology Pest Control Adviser Certification Program, and the Policy for On-Line Teaching and Learning as a second reading items--ready for a vote. The Certification Program has a time certain presentation for 2:45pm.

We have a full agenda of New Business items. Three policies are coming forward from Faculty Affairs: Policy on Composition of MPP searches which aligns senate and administrative policies, Policy on Faculty Director of Mission Centers which outlines how directors are seated into the positions, and the Policy on Student Evaluation of Teaching which revisits the issue from a different perspective than previously presented. The Policy on Centers and Institutes is updated to be in compliance with a new executive order. Student Academic Policy and Procedure Committee is presenting an updated Policy on Unit Load Limitation. From Curriculum, the MA in Psychology is presented in which we see new forms for graduate programs that replace the former "long form". Additionally, senate exec offers a Resolution on Tenure Track Hiring.

Please note that "Intent to Raise Questions" has moved down the agenda to after "New Business" as an attempt to prioritize our business and informational items. This seems to have worked well and been well received by those in attendance.
